From the SCORE Michiana Chairman
Our chapter, formed in 1972, offers mentoring assistance through our 27 volunteer members, all veteran business owners and/or company executives.
SCORE is a national organization, founded in 1964, affiliated with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), with 300+ chapters in the United States, staffed by over 11,000 volunteers nationwide. Every year SCORE volunteers help thousands of entrepreneurs start small businesses and achieve new levels of success in their existing businesses. Our goal is to help 1 million clients by 2020. Volunteering at SCORE Michiana is a way for you to give back to our community, connect with fellow business owners and pass on your knowledge and expertise to the next generation of Michiana entrepreneurs.
SCORE Michiana is seeking current or former business executive volunteers to assist small businesses with start-up, expansion or general counseling. Join a dedicated, collegial group of business executives in assisting with the economic development of St. Joseph County. SCORE Michiana volunteers provide confidential, no cost business mentoring services. We lead workshops to help small business owners meet their goals and achieve success. Whether you have owned a small business, come from a Fortune 500 company, retired, still working, or have a sincere commitment for helping small businesses, there is a place for you as a SCORE Michiana volunteer.
SCORE Michiana is also seeking current or former administrative professionals to volunteer to provide critical administrative services. You will provide key services in office management, program administration and volunteer coordination.
For many Americans, small business ownership is the American dream. In 2018, SCORE Michiana has provided over 300 free, confidential mentoring sessions to local entrepreneurs and small business owners, while conducting numerous educational workshops.
